Dr Nerina works at a dedicated technology addiction service, she says, “I see all sorts of symptoms of using and abusing technology, typically sleep problems. People getting into bed but they can’t switch their brain off, or they start neglecting their health.”
With more extreme cases I see social problems where people start to withdraw from physically connecting with other human beings because they’re on their devices… they come to me with often bizarre problems, and as I get into the problems I realise that technology has played its part.”
