Zayn Malik released his debut solo album today - one year since his departure from One Direction.

The 23-year-old singer's new release is called "Mind of Mine" and was soon trending on Twitter.

"Mind of Mine" was preceded by the release of lead single "Pillowtalk", which made it to top spot in a number of the international charts.

The ex-One Directioner plugged the new album on Instagram and changed his Twitter profile picture to the album cover.
