The government is considering banning drivers from parking on pavements, and handing out £70 fines to people who break the rules.
Drivers who park with any of their vehicle's wheels on the pavement would face the charge, in a bid to encourage more people to walk and cycle.
The practice is already banned in London and has been for more than 40 years.
But the Department for Transport has confirmed it is considering extending the fines across the rest of the country.
