Waqas Chaudhry, director of Manchester-based Speedy Sofas Ltd, even put German export registration plates on his Mercedes delivery van in the hope they would throw investigators off his trail.

Manchester Crown Court heard that between 2003 and 2014, either 47-year-old Chaudhry, of Davehall Avenue, Wilmslow, Cheshire, or his relatives were caught speeding a total of 67 times.

Unbeknownst to his family, when the prosecution notices arrived, he offered up bogus information to try to make the charges disappear.

PC Vaughan Sherrah-Davies, from Greater Manchester Police's road crime division welcomed the sentence.

Chaudhry persistently broke the law and has ended up in prison.

The dishonesty of his actions will stay with him for the rest of his life and I hope this serves as a warning - the Road Crime Unit of Greater Manchester Police is determined to prosecute those who undermine camera enforcement and try to evade justice - we will catch up with you.
