This is the sight that greeted one New York environmental conservationist on Tuesday morning - a deer with its head stuck in a light globe.

Jeff Hull, of the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, responded to a call of a deer laying in the woods with its head stuck.

According to a Facebook post from ECO, Mr Hull "approached the deer, but on his first attempt, the wet globe slipped out of his hands and the deer ran into a nearby downed tree, causing it to fall".

However, on the second attempt Mr Hull used his coat to successfully wrestle the deer free from the globe.
