George Osborne has reportedly been spotted in Vietnam firing a machine gun.

The former Chancellor, sacked from the Cabinet by Theresa May, was filmed by his 15-year-old son pulling the trigger, according to the Daily Mirror.

Video footage purportedly shows the Tatton MP firing an M60, used by US troops during the Vietnam war.

Mr Osborne, who was said to be in a former Viet Cong stronghold near to Ho Chi Minh City, was compared to Sylvester Stallone's Rambo character by one person quoted in the paper.

The witness, described as a British tourist, was reported as saying the weapon used was "one of those really, really big machine guns - the Rambo-style one".

Another tourist was quoted as saying: "He really let rip.

“We were all having a bit of a laugh about it – that he was aiming at a picture of Boris Johnson or Theresa May!”
