Nick Grimshaw unhurt after flipping car to avoid cat

Nick Grimshaw is known for his love of animals, often being pictured with his pet dog Pig.

But the Radio 1 DJ was willing to put himself in danger for animal-kind on Monday after flipping his car over - to avoid hitting a cat.

Police officers tweeted pictures of Grimshaw's Mercedes from his street in Stoke Newington, north London, with the caption "driver swerved to avoid a cat...everyone safe and well.".

The accident caused Grimshaw to miss a scheduled radio appearance with Annie Mac and Mistajam.

But he later tweeted he was fine, saying: "Had an accident in the car but all ok. Shout out to all my lovely neighbours for helping."

Grimmy confirmed he would be back to host his Radio 1 Breakfast Show on Tuesday, but quipped: "I'll er get a cab."
