Fresher this weekend, but warming up next week

Today:Rain will continue to affect a good part of the east and southeast of England and is unlikely to clear the east coast until after dark. Sunny spells elsewhere, but blustery showers will affect the far northwest. Generally feeling cooler.

Tonight:Further blustery showers will affect northwestern areas, but clear spells will predominate elsewhere, as the last of the day's rain clears the southeast. Turning quite chilly, especially in rural parts.

Sunday:Much of the country will see a dry day with sunny spells. Becoming windy in the north and west, with rain returning to Northern Ireland and western Scotland later.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:Rain across the northwest will head eastwards early next week. Ahead of this, temperatures will rise markedly, perhaps turning hot in some eastern areas by Tuesday.
