A 13-year-old boy has died following an incident involving an "unattended car".
The local teenager is believed to have been run over by the vehicle on a quiet cul-de-sac on Tuesday evening.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Macclesfield, Cheshire, but the boy later died from his injuries.
No-one else was involved in the incident as police continue to investigate the circumstances.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "At 8.49pm on Tuesday 20 September, emergency services were called to an address in Fowey Close, Macclesfield, following the report of an RTC (road traffic collision).
"The incident involved an unattended car and a 13-year-old boy from Macclesfield.
"No-one else was involved in the incident.
"Paramedics attended the scene but the boy had sustained injuries which later proved to be fatal.
"Investigations are ongoing to establish the exact cause of the accident.
"The boy's next of kin have been informed."
