Brooks Way have broken their silence over their absence from the X Factor's first live show, having gotten through at judges' houses.
Twins Josh and Kyle Brooks, both 17, have assured fans the "truth always wins" after their live performance as part of Louis Walsh's groups category was pulled.
The duo were meant to sing alongside the other 11 acts in Saturday night's programme but their performance was cut, with an ITV spokesman saying it related to information "given to the show regarding one of the group".
Last week The Sun on Sunday reported that Josh had been involved in an altercation with a girlfriend at a party, with the singer telling the paper: "A fight broke out between me and another male at a party. Amelia, along with others, tried to break it up. She was accidentally knocked in the process.
"It was never my intention to hurt her or put her in danger - and this situation is way out of my character."
The two of them used their Twitter account to set the record straight.
They tweeted: "Today, we have had a tough day with a false allegation.
"Don't believe everything you read, both Amelia and Josh will be stating the truth."
A second tweet added: "The truth always wins."
