Virgin Trains launches 'never-ending ticket' promotion

Virgin Trains has launched a "never-ending ticket" which will allow the ticket holder to make a return journey in first class for free.

The company will randomly select one passenger each day who can use the ticket to go anywhere on its west coast route, and the operator said it would continue the promotion as long as it is kept alive on social media.

For the chance to win, passengers must tweet Virgin Trains with the hashtag #NeverEndingTicket stating where they want to go and why.

Patrick McCall, co-chairman of Virgin Trains, said: "Virgin Trains' never-ending ticket is the first of its kind in the world and will give more people the opportunity to travel to some of the amazing destinations that we have on our route.

"We can't wait for the social community to get in on the game and help the ticket live as long as possible."

Once the ticket holder has chosen their destination, Virgin Trains will announce where the ticket is headed, and people near there will have the chance to pick it up and continue its journey.

The promotion will end if the ticket is uncollected or not used for three 24 hour periods.
