This shocking footage shows the moment a motocross bike rider blindly careers through a crossroads - and is nearly struck by a passing motorist.

The rider narrowly avoids hitting the car at a crossroads in Derby before speeding on to a recreation ground.

Sergeant Nick Beeston of Derbyshire Police said the footage was captured on an officer's body-worn camera as they patrolled the area following complaints about bikes causing a nuisance in the area.

He added: "In this case, the standard of riding is very poor and is clearly causing a danger to other road users and so we are very keen to speak to the rider.

"It is possible that the bike is used by more than one person so as well as information about the rider we would also ask for information from anyone who knows of anyone who has a similar bike."

Anyone with information about the incident which happened at 1.15pm on Saturday October 22 is asked to call police on 101.
