Reading have signed Dutch youth international Pelle Clement from Eredivisie giants Ajax on three-year-deal, as the Royals make their first signing of the summer.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has joined the Berkshire club for an undisclosed fee, making his senior debut for Ajax last season when he netted twice in the Dutch Cup.
Clement will be linking up with manager and fellow countryman Jaap Stam at Reading. He joins a club who were on the brink of promotion to Premier League last season, eventually losing out on penalties in the Championship play off final to Huddersfield Town.
"He is a young, very promising player with a good personality," said Stam.
“He will need to learn and adapt to the game over here of course, but he is a young, very promising player with a good personality."
