Remaining unsettled over the weekend

Sunny spells and showers continue across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland over the next 24 hours. Elsewhere there will be a few showers but more general rain starts to move in from the southwest later this afternoon bringing some very wet conditions across many parts of England and Wales overnight. Again, sunny spells and showers to the northwest to start the weekend but elsewhere it will be a fine, sunny start to the day before thickening cloud and rain move in across southwestern parts throughout the afternoon.
