Sky Bet League Two side Newport shocked Leicester City by dumping the Premier League side out of the FA Cup at Rodney Parade.

Padraig Amond's 85th-minute penalty fired Newport into the fourth round as 2-1 winners after Mark Albrighton was guilty of handball in the area.

The penalty came just three minutes after Rachid Ghezzal had levelled for Leicester, who had trailed since Newport's well-worked opener, which was headed in by Jamille Matt from Robbie Willmott's cross after just 10 minutes.

Leicester City are in 7th place in the Premier League and made 7 changes for their game with the south Welsh side, but they could not find their flow and the home side deserved the win.

Leicester City won the Premier League title in 2016, while Newport had not beaten a top flight side in the FA Cup since 1964.

Newport County are now in the 4th round draw of the FA Cup which takes place on Monday.
