Britain basks in exceptionally high February temperatures

Thursday will begin on a cloudy note for many areas, perhaps even with a few mist or fog patches across central and southern areas.

Some light rain and drizzle will affect Wales, northwest England and western Scotland at first but this steadily ease, allowing many places to become brighter through the afternoon.

Winds will be lighter than on Wednesday, but it will still be breezy in thewest.

But for all of us it will feel spring-like with some exceptionally high temperatures for late February, reaching 15 or possibly 16 Celsius (59-61 F).
