A cloudy start to the day for many places, with some mist, fog and low cloud in the south. For Northern Ireland and western Scotland it will be a wet start with outbreaks of rain, which will be heavy at times.
This band of rain will steadily sink southeastwards, with the rain getting into northern England and north Wales later in the afternoon. Behind it, skies will brighten with a mixture of sunshine and blustery showers across Scotland.
Ahead of it, much of England and Wales will be dry, but cloudy although a few bright or sunny spells may help temperatures rise to highs of 16 Celsius (61 F).
