New Juventus signing Adrien Rabiot says he took advice from Gianluigi Buffon before completing his move to the Serie A champions.

The 24-year-old's contract with Paris St Germain expired on June 30 and Juve moved quickly to add the midfielder to their roster.

Former Bianconeri and Italy goalkeeper Buffon moved to PSG last summer after a trophy-laden 17 years in Turin and Rabiot was impressed with his words of advice.

Following his unveiling on Tuesday, the France international told www.juventus.com: "I talked a lot with him last season, he gave me a lot of advice and told me what Juventus is about.

"In particular, he told me if I wanted to grow in my career and take a step forward, to come here would have been the right choice. I took this advice very seriously."

Rabiot arrived in Italy over the weekend and underwent a medical on Monday. His last game for PSG was on December 11.

He was not considered for selection by boss Thomas Tuchel after it became apparent he was not going to sign a new deal with the French giants.

He is looking forward to making his own mark at his new club, adding: "So many great French players have played here. Juve have a great history, I hope that now I will be able to contribute to that."

Last year Rabiot made himself unavailable for the World Cup after being left out of France's 23-man squad and was subsequently criticised by French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet for the decision.

Rabiot is Juve's second high-profile free transfer signing of the summer, following the arrival of fellow midfielder Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal.
