No overall control - Liberal Democrats largest party

Cambridge City Council was the only Lib Dem-controlled council in the region but is now officially hung as the Lib Dems don't have enough seats to outvote all the other parties without the casting vote of the mayor.

New council: LD 21 (-4), Lab 19 (+4), Ind 1 (n/c), Con 1 (+1), Green 0 (-1)

Lab 34%, LD 28%, Con 21%, Others 17%

2008 share of the vote

LD 28%, Lab 26%, Con 25%, Others 16%
