CCTV pictures have been released of a man police would like to speak to in connection with an arson attack in Leighton Buzzard.

The incident happened in North Street, Leighton Buzzard between 3.30am and 3.50am on Saturday March 17, when the offenders approached a communal area near Snips Hairdressers with what appeared to be a petrol canister.

CCTV cameras caught the moment when the blaze was started and residents were woken by the noise and alerted the emergency services. No one was injured during the attack.

Detectives want to speak to the man in the CCTVpictures who is described as white, wearing a grey hooded top, black bottoms, black hat and white footwear and seen to be carrying a green petrol can. A second offender is described as a black male wearing dark clothing.

“It is vitally important that we speak to this individual as he may have some valuable information relating to this incident. I would urge anyone who may have seen him or knows his identity, to get in touch. “We believe that this fire was started deliberately and we need to ensure that whoever did so is not able to commit a similar offence anywhere else.”
