The Duke of Edinburgh will not attend the garden party today (Tuesday 12 June) at the Royal Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

A palace spokesman said Prince Philip would be "continuing with his convalescence at home".

It has also been confirmed he will not accompany The Queen on her East Midlands Tour later this week.

On Wednesday he was due to visit Corby, and on Thursday, Hitchin, the Lister Hospital in Stevenage, and Hatfield House.

The Duke of York will now accompany The Queen at the Sandringham event. The last time a garden party was held there was in 2002 to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
