A man who died at a level crossing in Norfolk last week has been named as 64-year-old Rodney Wheeler. It happened at the Pleasant level crossing near Downham Market on the 12th July.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said:

"I can confirm that the man who died at Pleasant level crossing, near Downham Market, Norfolk, on Thursday, 12 July has been named as Rodney Wheeler, aged 64 from Downham Market. "BTP, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire Constabulary officers were called to the crossing following a report of a car being struck by a train at 1.15pm. "Paramedics also attended but Mr Wheeler was pronounced dead at the scene. "The incident is currently treated as non-suspicious and Mr Wheeler's death is thought to have been a tragic accident."
