People living in Norwich are being offered the chance to join a collective energy switching project in an attempt to lower their household bills.

Residents are being asked to express an interest in joining the scheme. The council has teamed up with a specialist switching partner who will then search the energy market place and negotiate the best deal.

The council will then write to everyone who signed up and tell them exactly how much they stand to save over the year. Householders then have just under four weeks to decide whether to make the final switch.

The council says signing up to the scheme is free and there's no obligation to join the project.
