Northampton Saints pair Tom Wood and Lee Dickson will start for England in the first test with Argentina on their summer tour of South America.

Wood will lead the side as he wins his 19th cap, while Dickson claims his 8th cap at scrum half.

Ben Foden lost the battle to play at full back with Harlequins player Mike Brown and will start on the bench, with both wings occupied by David Strettle (Saracens) and Christian Wade (London Wasps). Wade will win his first cap on Sunday (June 9).

Also starting on the bench are Saints teammates Courtney Lawes and Paul Doran Jones, the latter joins Harlequins later this summer.

Head Coach Stuart Lancaster said: “It is great to have so many young players pushing through and to be able to give them their opportunities on this tour. It is a young England side but one with a great deal of ability and self-belief and it will be great to see how they perform in the intensity of Test match rugby.

“Facing Argentina in front of their home crowd in Salta will be a tough challenge but we are looking forward to it and I am sure the players will give their all for the shirt.”
