Downton Abbey's David Robb talks movingly about the loss of his wife at Norwich Cathedral eating disorder service
One of the stars of Downton Abbey has talked movingly about the loss of his wife following an eating disorder.
David Robb, who plays Dr Clarkson attended a service of remembrance at Norwich Cathedral.
His wife - the actress Briony McRoberts - took her own life last last year after suffering from anorexia.
The service - the first of its kind - was held to mark the 25th anniversary of eating disorders charity - Beat.
During the service Beat renewed its Promise For Life appeal - and pledged to continue its vital work to beat eating disorders and support families.
Eating disorders claim more lives than any other mental illness and one in five of the most seriously affected will die prematurely.
Beat provides helplines, online support and a network of UK-wide self-help groups to help adults and young people in the UK beat their eating disorders.
