Police pursue 30 tonne dumper truck for two hours

Police have arrested a man following a pursuit with a 30 tonne articulated dumper truck which started on the A11 in Norfolk.

Officers were called to the Thickthorn roundabout shortly after 12.30pm following reports a dumper truck had been stolen and was being driven dangerously.

A number of police resources were involved in the pursuit, including six cars and the NPAS helicopter.

Police are believed to have made a failed attempt to stop the truck with a stinger on between Attleborough and Snetterton. One police car and several road signs were left damaged in the area.

A man, aged in his late 30s, was arrested shortly after 2.30pm after the truck stopped at the junction with Bury Road in Brandon after travelling along the A134.

He's now been taken into police custody for questioning.
