A coastal village in Essex is the most deprived neighbourhood in England, according to official statistics.

The community east of Jaywick, near Clacton-on-Sea, has again topped a list that measured deprivation in over 32,000 areas across the country.

Most of the data, compiled in a report by the Department for Communities and Local, is from 2012/13.

Jaywick also topped a government report on deprivation published in 2010.
