A Northamptonshire vicar is providing young people with a venue to cage fight by hosting classes at a former church.

The Reverend Paul Smith holds the martial arts lessons every week night at the site in Corby.

Whilst it may seem an odd match at first, he says the church has always had a strong link with sport:

"It's a bit unconventional to be honest, but also the church has been involved in sport throughout the years. Historically the connection between sport and the church has always been big, we're just reconnecting that but in sports that are growing and big in the present day."

Many of the people who attend have had troubled pasts. Here they are given the opportunity to get fit, disciplined, and possibly even begin a new career.

Reese McCarron, 18, is one of the clubs rising stars. He says it has helped him turn his life around.

"It's changed my life completely. I used to be drinking every day, taking this and that, doing loads of mad stuff. Now I'm just chilling, focussing on my fight career."
