Ex-police officer found guilty of child sex offences including rape

A former officer with Bedfordshire Police officer has been convicted of a string of sex offences against underage girls.

Mohammad Arshad, 35, of Ferndale Road, Luton, was a trainee officer between April 2014 and October 2014.

He was immediately suspended when one of the victims came forward and he left the force in December 2014.

When Bedfordshire Police searched his home they discovered images of teenage girls on his phone and computers and a number of messages to potential victims.

Today he was convicted of 17 charges including:

  • Causing a child to engage in sexual activity

  • Sexual activity with a child

  • Meeting a child following sexual grooming

  • Rape

  • Causing a child to watch a sexual act

  • Paying for the sexual services of a child
