Opi Baron from St Neots in Cambridgeshire has begun an online campaign to fund a breast removal operation.

Opi is gender neutral and says the alienation from a biologically female body has led to mental illness including agoraphobia.

Opi has decided to have surgery to remove the breasts and has set up a GoFundMe page asking for donations towards the £6,000 operation.

"There is a mirror in my bathroom and on a bad day I will not go in there because I know seeing myself and not matching what I feel I should like will distress me. I mean I do bind my chest flat. It hurts and then I'm in constant pain for the whole day because of my physical form and that's not fair."

Opi told ITV News Anglia about negative comments received online, but insists that it's no different from having a breast enhancement.

"I've got a lot of comments like you are mutilating yourself. What is the difference between adding and taking away. Having any sort of implant is fine because you are giving yourself confidence and happiness in your physical self and that's exactly what I am doing. Trying to find a way to find physical happiness."
