Business leaders call for reassurance following Brexit

Business leaders across our region are calling for reassurance following Britain's vote to leave the European Union.

Concern is growing at the amount of EU money that will be lost from our region when the UK leaves.

Businesses are now calling on the government to step in and provide certainty- both over replacing that investment and the future of the region's big infrastructure projects.

Millions of pounds return to the region from the European Union each year to help build infrastructure, fund science and research and drive business and trade. But as politicians bicker and financial markets wobble, there's concern Brexit could risk the prosperity of recent years.

Business leaders want assurance from the British government they're still going to get the same investment when the UK leaves. Norfolk and Suffolk gets £86 million of EU money through the local enterprise partnership alone.
