Colchester Hospital hail 'heroic' security guards who rescued family of ducklings

Three security guards at Colchester Hospital have been praised after they came to the rescue of a group of ducklings who had fallen down a drain.

Lee, Neville and Jason saw that a female duck was in distress and then found out that her offspring were trapped.

Still wearing their stab-proof vests, the trio promptly stopped traffic before removing the manhole cover and reuniting the chicks with their mother.

The hospital have described them as "heroes" and have posted pictures of the rescue on social media.
