Police station counter services to move to libraries in pilot scheme in Norfolk

A library isn't the obvious place to report a crime but people will be able to from September at Thetford in Norfolk following the closure of the front desk at the town's police station.

A six month trial will see services switch to Thetford library in a move that has angered residents because librarians will be dealing with police matters. A similar scheme will start at Gorleston library too.

It is an idea that's already been rolled out in other police force areas as forces struggle with budget cuts.
