Eleven cows have died and 15 others are missing after they were hit by a train near Peterborough.

The cattle wandered onto the East Coast Main Line between Peterborough and Huntingdon on Sunday morning.

Services are beginning to return to normal following an afternoon of disruption, but many football fans heading north to watch Arsenal play Burnley in the Premier League were forced to abandon their journeys.

The cows have since been removed from the line.
