Former Prime Minster David Cameron has praised the "ambitious" work of Cambridge-based charity Alzheimer's Research UK after taking over as their new president.

Mr Cameron will take on the role immediately as he moves on to other ventures following last year's shock EU referendum result.

Writing in The Times today, Mr Cameron vowed to give his all to secure more funding for dementia research.
