Murals have appeared on walls around Harlow to celebrate diversity in the town - and encourage cohesion after a troubled year.

Polish street artist Yola Kudela has created the large-scale artworks which feature Harlow citizens including local MP Robert Halfon.

Yola regularly recreated Old Masters, substituting local figures into the famous paintings.

The mural is inspired by Ilya Repin's 1873 work, Los Sirgadores del Volga, depicting hardworking seamen towing a boat to shore.

On one version of the mural, the words "we are all in the same boat" have been added.

In August last year, just two months after the Brexit vote, Polish man Arkadiusz Jozwik was assaulted and killed in the Stow shopping area of Harlow.

A 15-year-old boy denies the manslaughter of the 40-year-old. A trial is expected to begin in July this year.
