The company says it wants to create a level playing field for men and women.

In the UK, Aviva is offering its 16,000 people:

  • · 26 weeks leave at full basic pay for each parent employed by the company within the first 12 months of a child's arrival
  • Includes full time and part time employees across all levels of the company
  • No minimum length of service required

"I think we're absolutely expecting a mixed response and one of the things that's really important to me and all of us here is: it's not our position to judge. It's our position to provide choice for families and it's entirely up to them if they take us up on their benefit"

– Sarah Morris Chief People Officer, Aviva
