Dozens of guns handed over as people surrender weapons

More than 70 illegal and unwanted guns have been handed over in Northamptonshire as part of a firearms surrender by the National Ballistics Intelligence Service.

The haul included shotguns, rifles, air weapons, handguns and imitation firearms. A number of items were deactivated or antique firearms, including a flintlock musket. Other weapons including a crossbow and knives were also handed in.

The weapons were handed over in just a fortnight.
