Police in Hertfordshire have released CCTV footage of the incident in the hope of tracking down the quick-thinking passer-by to thank her for helping out.

The incident happened just after 10.30pm on Christmas Eve when neighbourhood police officers were alerted to a group of men who had allegedly threatened a member of door staff at a venue in Hertford town centre.

Shortly after, the officers stopped a vehicle before one of the men inside made off.
