Film star Eddie Redmayne will give a reading at the funeral of renowned physicist Stephen Hawking this afternoon (Saturday).
The order of service and guest list for the thanksgiving service at St Mary the Great Church at Cambridge University has been released.
Eddie Redmayne, who played Prof Hawking in the Oscar-winning film The Theory of Everything, will attend alongside Felicity Jones, who portrayed the scientist's first wife Jane.
He will read a Bible extract from Ecclesiastes 3.
The cosmologist's oldest son Robert Hawking will read the first eulogy with a second given by Prof Fay Dowker, a former student of the professor.
Lord Rees, the Astronomer Royal, will also read an extract from The Death of Socrates.
Music will be performed by the Choir of Gonville and Caius College, directed by Geoffrey Webber.
They will perform Beyond the Night Sky, a space-themed choral composition written as a gift for Prof Hawking for his 75th birthday in 2017.
Hymns will include Jerusalem and He who should valiant be.
Also on the official guest list is model and Cambridge graduate Lily Cole, playwright Alan Bennett, comedian Dara O'Briain and businessman Elon Musk who was behind the recent SpaceX launch.
