Man jailed for sexual abuse of young girl in Cambridgeshire

A man from Cambridgeshire who sexually abused a young girl over a number of years has been jailed.

41-year-old Simon Crick was arrested and charged after police found indecent images of the victim on a camera at his home in St Ives.

The allegations came to police attention in 2016, after the victim confided in a girl the same age as her.

Following a two-day trial, Crick was sentenced to 11 years for attempted rape of a girl under 13, 11 years for sexual assault of a girl under 13 by penetration and seven years each for three charges of sexual assault on a girl under 13 by touching, all to run concurrently.
