Man jailed for beating dogs and leaving another extremely emaciated

A man has been jailed for beating a mum and her puppies and leaving another dog extremely emaciated in King's Lynn.

Scott Michael Doak was sentenced for causing unnecessary suffering to a Staffordshire Bull Terrier type dog called Rocky by failing to adequately investigate the cause of his poor body condition, and failing to protect Rocky and four Staffie puppies from fleas and worms.

He also failed to provide a suitable environment that was clean, of a suitable size and free from hazards.

The first call we had was about a male dog and puppies who were all being kept in unreasonable conditions at his ex-girlfriend’s property.

Doak was also sentenced for causing unnecessary suffering to a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Lily and her puppies Millie, Penny and Lizzie, after he kicked and threw them across the room.

He was sentenced to 26 weeks, a year supervision order and disqualified from keeping all animals for 25 years.

Six-year-old Staffie Lily has now been re-homed at the RSPCA West Norfolk branch.

Rocky the four-year-old Staffie, is now a healthy weight and is still at the West Norfolk branch and looking for his forever home.
