Family pay tribute to murder victim

The family of 47-year-old Lee Evans who was murdered in Chelmsford have paid tribute to him.

Lee was found with severe injuries in Cromar Way in the town at 1am on Friday 22 June. He was taken to hospital but died an hour later.

Lee's family described him as a kind, protective and loving person.

Although he was living a lifestyle we wouldn’t have chosen, he was caring and protective of his family and friends. He idolised his son, and loved his nephews.

“Lee was very kind, not just to people in the family, but to others as well who knew he would be there to look after them...we will miss him more than we can ever say."

Four people were arrested after the murder but have been released without charge. Police are continuing their inquiries.
