Two drug dealers have been jailed for a combined total of almost three years after police seized drugs with a street value of more than £10,000 during a car stop check in Chelmsford.
Police stopped a Ford Fiesta in Butterfield Road, Boreham in April and noticed a strong smell of cannabis.
Joshua Blane was sitting in the front passenger seat with a carrier bag containing cannabis and cocaine was found in the pocket of a pair of jogging bottoms.
The 21-year old from Heybridge was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply, possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of a knife in a public place.
he admitted the charges and was jailed for two years and nine months.
Police also carried out a search at a house in Berkely Drive in Chelmsford and found herbal cannabis, cocaine and drugs paraphernalia. Drugs with a street value of between £9,895 and £19,520 were found.
23-year old Robert Ketley was arrested at the property and later charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply, possession of cocaine with intent to supply, supplying cocaine and supplying cannabis.
He admitted the charges at Chelmsford Crown Court on May 24 and was sentenced to three years.
