Spanish Police said the investigation is "still open" and confirmed there had been "some arrests" made.
A spokeswoman for the Guardia Civil declined to give details on the number of people arrested, their ages, genders or nationalities.
A spokesman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said: "Our staff are providing assistance to the family of a British man who has died in Ibiza and are in touch with the local authorities, who are investigating."
