A parent called Essex Police to complain about their child's PE kit having the wrong name stitched into it, the force have revealed.
The call was made on Tuesday morning, just a couple of days before schools are due to start the new term.
In a post on Twitter, police said it was "just another example of misuse of 999" and that it was "far from a police emergency."
The incident is the latest in a long line of inappropriate calls made to the force.
Back in July, Essex Police released examples of calls that had been made to their control room, including a woman who said she'd been “mugged off” by a takeaway company who'd mixed up her order and a man who wanted to know whether there was a bull in a nearby field or not.
