Marathon man raises thousands for charity in memory of wife

Will Arnold from Chelmsford has been put forward for a Pride of Britain Award.

Will Arnold's wife Katie died of cancer three days after they got married.

Now after raising thousands of pounds for charity, Will has been put forward for a Pride of Britain Award.

Katie was 29 years old when she died and had been diagnosed with bowel cancer only five weeks before she got married.

Since her death Will hasn't stopped running - doing marathon and half-marathons for charity even though he has an injured leg.

He has raised more than £3,000 for the Farleigh Hospital in Chelmsford where Katie died. He also also raised £10,000 for bowel cancer research.

Will wasn't a runner until tragedy struck.

He plans to run the London Marathon again in 2019 and says he has one mission"just to keep trying to give something back."

"It has been a great way for me to deal with things and stay as positive as possible."
