English Rugby Union history was made during Northampton Saints' match on Sunday. Sara Cox became the first female official to referee a Premiership Rugby Cup game.
The Exeter-based official took charge of Saints' 15-14 Premiership Rugby Cup win at Wasps. Cox is the Rugby Football Union's first centrally-contracted female referee.
Last season, she controlled a game between Cornish Pirates and Doncaster in the Greene King IPA Championship.
The 28-year-old is the first woman to referee in the second and third tiers of English men's rugby.
