Dog attacked with knife in Essex burglary

Police are appealing for information after a dog was injured during an aggravated burglary in Pitsea, South Essex.

On Wednesday, three men entered an address in Rokescroft just before 10.35pm.

All three carried knives and threatened the occupants inside, before making off with several debit and credit cards and a small amount of cash.

The victim’s dog, Lexi, suffered injuries to her eye after being cut with a knife by one of the men.

Her owner hopes the graphic image may encourage people to come forward with information.

The three men are described as black, believed to be in their late 20s or early 30s. They all wore dark clothing and left the address in the direction of Pitsea Road.

Anyone who has any information is asked to call the Basildon Local Policing Team on 101.
