The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for strong winds in parts of the East of England.
The areas affected are north east Cambridgeshire, north east Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes.
The warning in is force until 5pm on Thursday 29 November 2018 and the Met Office says windy and wet conditions will affect many areas.
What to expect
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely with some journeys taking longer. There is the chance of some cancellations as well as some road/bridge closures.
- Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
- It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities affected by spray and/or large waves with a small chance of injuries from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.
Northern and western parts of the British Isles are bearing the brunt of the stormy weather but a gust of 50 mph has been recorded near Bedford.
